We are proud to be sourcing yarns from the awarded the Good Cashmere Standard. This certification stands for sustainably sourced cashmere from farms where goats are treated responsibly, the environment is protected, and the social, ecological, and economic living conditions of cashmere farmers and their families are respected.

The Good Cashmere Standard® is an initiative of the Aid by Trade Foundation with the aim of creating, promoting and implementing a benchmark standard for sustainable cashmere.

The Standard incorporates the Five Freedoms as defined by the Farm Animal Welfare Council. The Good Cashmere Standard follows three main principles: promote animal welfare in cashmere production, support cashmere farmers to secure a sustainable source of income and protect the environment.

The OEKO-TEX standard is a globally recognized certification system for textiles that ensures they have been tested for harmful substances and are therefore safe for human use. The certification is issued by the International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology, also known as OEKO-TEX. The standard is divided into several product classes, which specify the maximum permissible concentration of harmful substances in textiles, such as clothes, fabrics, and bedding. The certification process also evaluates the production process of the textile and the environmental impact of the manufacturing. The OEKO-TEX standard is designed to protect consumers, manufacturers, and the environment by providing a uniform standard for the safety and sustainability of textile products.or FAQs.

The BCI initiative stands for Better Cotton Initiative. It is a global non-profit organization that works to improve the sustainability of cotton production worldwide. The BCI works with farmers, retailers, and other stakeholders to promote more sustainable cotton farming practices that reduce the environmental impact of cotton production and improve the livelihoods of cotton farmers.

The BCI provides training and support to farmers on issues such as water conservation, pesticide use, and soil health, with the goal of promoting more sustainable farming practices. The initiative also provides a traceability system to track the origin of cotton and ensure that it meets sustainability standards.

BCI-certified cotton is produced using less water and fewer chemicals, and it promotes better working conditions for cotton farmers. The BCI initiative aims to make sustainable cotton the norm and to promote a more sustainable and equitable future for the cotton industry.
